The Obituary Of A Fellow Twig

What is up my twig squad! For this blog all I am going to do is a little obituary.

It has came to notice that MLK has died. He gave a great speech. His dream shall continue on. Let the person who shot him be forever sorrowful for their wrong doings. MLK was a strong, brave man who stood up for what he believed in. I hope death treats him well, in memory Martin Luther King Jr.

The Twig Has Hair!

What is up my twig squad! So I have heard a lot of talk about the diversity of hair when it comes to the struggles of having long hair, short hair, curly hair, wavy hair, straight hair, and so on. Today I felt it best to talk about my hair, if you can relate please tell me cause I am in need of help with my hair! I am a mixed girl and a lot of people say, “Oh, you just have mixed girl hair.” While this is true, my hair can sometimes feel like it is taking over! It takes up my time, money, energy, etc. In order to deal with my hair and wear it curly, I have to wake up early, shower and wash my hair, spray it with this hair stuff, and brush it out as best I can. Somehow my hair always ends up tangled. I just don’t know what to do with my hair anymore. Send help! keep on twigging!

Songs The Twig Listens To

What is up my twig squad! I’m just going to share a few songs that I listen to that have a deep meaning to them, relating to me.

  1. Where I’ve been by Queen Latifah. This means so much to me because we have all been through struggles and the struggles I have faced, I just hope no other teenage girl or anyone really has to go through.
  2. I’m so tired… by Lauv, Troye Sivian. This song just makes me feel like I’m not the only one without love in their life and I am not the only one putting a smile on saying how cute all these couples are when really I feel lonely and I want what they have.
  3. Sober by Demi Lovato. This means a lot to me because it shows how much she struggled and that she was in so much pain and how sorry she really is.
  4. Never Enough by Jenny Lind. This song means a lot to me because it is considered me and my best friends “Friendship song” It was a song the first movie we ever saw together and we even have and inside joke about the song.
  5. Hope by XXXTENTACTION (RIP). This song has so much meaning in it just to listen to it. Alright that’s it for this blog TWIG OUT!

The Bad Twig!

What is up my twig squad! In this blog I wanted to dig a little deeper with a topic that is harsh. It is about bad friendships and how to know when to end them. To start off with I cannot take the credit for this because I got the inspiration to write about this from one of the clubs I am in at school. To the people who don’t have a club to go to or someone to talk to about this then I thought it would be a neat little idea to put this out there. First of all, what is friendship? What we discussed in group was that you define what friendship is but overall we came up with this, “Friendship is a relationship you can bounce back from and learn from.” At the same time everyone could have a different definition of what the word friend means to you.

Number one: If your friend does not support you then they gotta go. Chances are they are jealous of you and they don’t want to see you happy or see you succeed.

Number two: If they talk about you behind your back. First off with this, if they are talking about everyone else to you then chances are they are talking about you to everyone else and spreading your business. Also this can break a trust bond between friends. I know from experience. So much trust is lost when you spread other peoples secrets or if they spread yours.

Number three: If you just don’t like to hang out with them. If you don’t like them anymore then tell them. Don’t lead them on and tell them you guys are best friends but then in the back of your head you might be thinking, “Wow that person is really annoying.” It’s best to be kind, but straight forward then it is to be secretive and fake. Lights Camera Action Twig!

What is up my twig squad! In this blog I am going to be rating a movie that I watched called A Dogs Purpose. Let me start with this. I love animals. I always have and always will. I am not one of those people who just say they love animals though. For example, I was doing a skit for my theater class and I was supposed to be this mad and angry character. For some reason, that day, I was very giggly and could not keep a straight face for the life of me. My friend, who shall not be named, knows me better than almost anyone and she knew that I loved animals. She also happened to be part of the group  I was in for the skit. Anyway, my decided that we needed a good grade on the project and we couldn’t do that if I was laughing the whole time. She pulled out her phone and showed me a picture of an abandoned dog. To make a long story short, we didn’t perform that day cause I was too busy crying and wishing that I could take the dog home and care for it myself. Now that we are all caught up on my love for animals, back to the movie A Dogs Purpose.

If you do not know what the movie is then it is pretty much about a dog who dies and then comes back as a different dog that later dies and the cycle continues until the dog finds its purpose in life. Lets just say that every time the dog died I cried. I am such a sucker when it comes to animals dying or getting hurt. So pretty much I was crying the whole movie. Overall it was a pretty good movie and I am exited to see the second movie. The dogs knowledge on other animals is what I found to be the funniest parts of the movie. The saddest parts of the movie was probably when the dog died for the first time and also there was a part in the movie where the dog was a police dog and got shot and died. Lastly the happiest moments of the movie was when the d0g reunited with his human at the very ending.

So what we have learned here is that I cry too much and the movie was great. Keep on twigging.

The Twigs Jeans!

What is up my twig squad! This is going to be more of a story time/ rant instead of an inspiration. I am skinny. I think you could have guessed that by my name and if you read my first blog. I am not saying this to flash it in anyone’s face cause sometimes I really hate being skinny. Anyway I want to rant about my jeans. Yes, jeans the ones you wear on your legs. It’s kind of a weird, out of no where type of topic but whatever I guess I am just weird like that. Jeans have been a struggle my whole life and I am just wondering if anyone can relate. I am skinny but my legs are really long so jeans are really hard to find that fit my size. They are either to big at the waist or they look like high waters and don’t come down as far as I would like them to on my legs. Anyway does anyone else have that problem cause it annoys me and I was just wondering if anyone knew a good place to get some jeans. Also remember this is more of a rant, twig to twig member, random talk about how jeans don’t fit. Keep on twigging.

A Twigs Social Life!

What is up my twig squad! For this post I thought I should talk a little bit about social media. I have a social media. My friends have a social media. My family has a social media. Tons of people have social media. I have seen this a whole lot, “Dangers of social media.” “Girl kidnapped because of Instagram.” And more. Everyone talks about the dangers of social media and how it is bad for the brain but no one ever talks about the positives. I think I mentioned in one of my last posts that people are often times focused on the negatives and a lot of the time we forget about the positives. So what I guess I am trying to get at is what is good in the social media world.

Number one. It is a huge connection. Whether it be friends or family. I only say this out of experience. For example, on my dads side of the family I had this cousin who I used to go over to their house and play with when I was little all the time. As I grew up I moved in with my mom and we ended up not talking for a few years. Well, one day I got on my Instagram and I found my cousin. I hit the follow button, he followed me back and messaged me. We talked and caught up. That connection that we lost a few years ago was brought back through social media. Now I am not saying go out and follow four hundred random people and hit them up and say that you two have a “connection” but at least you can stay in touch with old friends or churches or communities.

Number two. Its a good way to get involved and see what is going on around you. Before I had some of the social media apps that I have now I had no clue what was going on in the world. I didn’t know what was bad or good or who the “latest new pop singers” were. I would go to school and people would be talking about the video they saw on Instagram or Snapchat and I would just sit their and nod. I didn’t know what to think or what to do cause I wasn’t in the loop and I had absolutely no clue what was going on in the world. If I didn’t have social media today I probably wouldn’t know what the “build a wall” movement was all about unless I asked a friend.

Number three. Support. There are tons of things and people out their who post drugs and videos of them smoking or drunk but also there are pictures of people who went out of their way to spread the word about the Bible. Or to have fun with friends that they love. If you read some comments people post then it might say something like “I hate myself.” and someone else might reply with, “Whatever your going through let me help you.” I use quotation marks because I am copying this straight from a post I found and I was just scrolling through the comments and found this. It was part of what inspired me to write this. There is so much hate in the world and right now all the hate is overruling the good and the positives. The death rate on teens are going up because they are injuring themselves and everyone is depressed. I am not going to lie social media has so much bad on it but their is so much good too. I think people just ignore the good but praise the bad.

For example, if you saw a someone fall down at school and papers went flying everywhere and then a few people walk over to help pick them up, you might say, “Hey those are nice people.” or you might just walk on by. But if there was a fight going on, most likely, you would pull out your phone and record or maybe tell some people about it. See what I mean? Don’t forget to acknowledge the good just as much as the bad. Keep on twigging,

Ten Things You Should Know About The Tennessee Twigs!

What is up my twig squad! I moved to the state of Tennessee, last year in 2018. I knew nothing about bigger cities. I was from a pretty small city in the state of North Carolina. Anyway I thought I could tell you a few things about Tennessee that I didn’t know or wish that I did know.

  1. Taxes are $00.03 above than it was in North Carolina.
  2. There is absolutely no Bo Jangles in the city I live in.
  3. The food here seems to be better for some reason or maybe that’s just me.
  4. It takes forever to get anywhere. An example my friend lives like a minute down the road but if I drive over their it takes like fifteen minutes.
  5. Schools and churches are more connected.
  6. There is a bigger variety of activities.
  7. There are more malls and outlets.
  8. It has the most beautiful sunsets.
  9. I have made way more friends here than in North Carolina. (Even though I still love the ones back home).
  10. The crime rate is higher.
